The Ohio Northern University Astronomy Club will host an “Honors Day Star Party” from 9 to 11 p.m. Friday at the ONU Observatory.
This is the start of Honors Day weekend at ONU, when students receive awards and honors within their disciplines. However, the event is open to everyone.
The focus will be observing the waxing crescent moon, along with Venus, Saturn and some deep-sky objects. Venus will be particularly bright because it reaches maximum brilliancy Monday. Its crescent phase will be easily seen through the telescope.
