A FORMER Young Australian of the Year and a rising star of professional astronomy will be the final guest for the year at the Macarthur Astronomy Forum on November 21.
Bryan Gaensler (pictured), professor of astronomy at the Sydney Institute for Astronomy at Sydney University, has been the patron of the Macarthur Astronomical Society since 2009.
He will given an illustrated talk on his first attempt at writing, a recently published book titled Extreme Cosmos.
MAS president Trevor Rhodes said he was certain Prof Gaensler’s book would reveal many new astronishing facts about the universe.
“His talk will be a stimulating tour of the bizarre properties of some of the most extraordinary objects uncovered by modern astronomers,” he said.
The forum will be held in Room 213, Building 30, University of Western Sydney, Campbelltown, on Monday, November 21, at 7.30pm.
